Bunjil's Larr
Program

Little Wombats are so excited to introduce our new program, Bunjil's Laar! This immersive program has been tailored specifically for primary school students in grades 2-6. Designed to completment the curriculum and ignite curiousity, Bunjil's Laar is the perfect way to incorporate Indigenous Perspectives in your primary school classroom. By fostering empathy, respect, and cultural appreciation, this program empowers students to become informed global citizens with a deep appreciation for Australia's Indigenous heritage.

Program Activities

Art

Students dive into contemporary First Nation artist practices with a focus on storytelling through art. Guided by an experienced Aboriginal artist, students will create their own artwork while learning about symbols, stories and significance, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal cultural expressions.

Sport

We engage students with movement as they participate in traditional games that are not only fun, but also rich in history and cultural significance. These activities promote physical health, teamwork, and an understanding of how Indigenous communities have used sport as a form of communication, celebration and community bonding for centuries.

History

Students are immersed in an educational journey into history, covering significant events and practices of Aboriginal communities. Through interactive discussions, students gain insights into the resilience and diversity of Aboriginal cultures, nurturing respect and a nuanced understanding of our First Nations people and their enduring heritage.
